Rebel Attack On Prison, Could The U.S. Step In?

On August 31 in Mogadishu, Somalia, 38 Al Shabaab members attacked a high level security prison. It unknown what the true reason was to attack the prison, but it’s stated that they may have done it in order to free some of their other members that were sentence to death and wait to be executed. The attack is said to have started by car bomb followed many rounds of gunfire, and at least 6 other explosions going off during the gunfire. During the attack 7 Al Shabaab members, 2 security guards were killed, and about 15 civilians were badly injured. As a result on the attack, U.S. military forces conducted an operation on September 1.
