Saturday, September 15, a boat carrying 250 African migrants to Europe
sunk off the coast of Libya. Many have died and only 39 people have been
saved so far. Many migrants have been leaving Libya by boat on their
way to Egypt for many years now. The Italian government says that more
than 100,000 people have reached their shores so far in 2014. More than
100 migrants died in a similar accident in August.
