An endangered Abyssinian Lion, which are found in Ethiopia, killed a zoo keeper by biting him in the neck.  The zoo keeper, a man named Abera Silsay, who was 51, was in the enclosure to clean out the lion’s cages but forgot to close the door to the lion’s sleeping chambers.  Mr. Silsay was attacked was for about 15-20 minutes and although guards tried to scare the lion away, he did not survive the attack.  Keeping endangered, yet dangerous, animals in captivity requires specialized training for those who work with them.

  1. That's sad, I would never be a zookeeper....for any animal.

  2. They should have two people doing that job at once, for no mistakes, especially with a dangerous animal like a lion.
