Kenya bus attack

A bus carrying 60 passengers, which refused to stop when flagged down, was attacked with bullets, and rocket-propelled grenade before it stopped and force it off the main road. There two gunmen then began a killing spree, after separating 29 of the passengers who did not look Somali, or were unable to recite the Shahada, an Islamic creed. One man out of the 29 played dead to get away with being shot, leaving 19 other men and 9 women dead.
The bus had been hijacked about 31 miles from the border with Somalia, by the country’s notorious al-Shabaab terrorist group. Since 2011 Kenya has been hit by a wave of attacks by the al-Qaeda linked al-Shabaab group, after it sent troops to Somalia in October of that year. In a report into the attacks, published in September, the International Crisis Group said al-Shabaab is becoming "more entrenched and a graver threat to Kenya”.
