There is currently a viscous war being fought in Gaza between Hamas and Israel.
This all started because of the disappearance of 3 Israeli teens June 12, that were found dead June 30. Israel accused Hamas, which they denied, and within days Israels retaliation began. June 30, the same night that the boys' bodies were found, Gaza launched rockets into Israel and there were airstrikes from Israel warplanes.
Israel launched "Operation Protective Edge" July 8 and since then 1,423 Gazans have died and 8,265 have been injured. There has only been 59 Israelis deaths.
August 13, Israel and Hamas had decided to extend the temporary ceasefire for 5 days. These temporary ceasefire is supposedly a start in trying to negotiate ways where it can be permanent.
